motivational concerts that inspire high school students
what is a motivational concert? A motivational concert is a county wide event where 5-10 high schools gather at the same venue for music and motivation. Similar to a music concert, motivational concerts are led by music but are intertwined with life lessons from notable speakers.
As host and DJ, Elijah Desmond leads each motivational concert and delivers important life lessons. He is accompanied by 2 handpicked speakers and often adds surprise guests to the line-up. Elijah is adamant that fun is essential to learning, so incorporating music helps relay the messages at hand. Students are tasked with forming production committees which helps them develop a sense of personal investment in the event. The concert curriculum includes many topics such as identity, self awareness, depression, race, drugs, bullying and college preparation. Our speakers will touch on different issues and offer coping skills for daily life and beyond. Regardless of gender, race, religion or socioeconomic status, The Ladder of Life strives to empower today’s youth to ascend their own ladder of life.
