WHO WE ARE
Guys with Ties is a leadership group for boys under the direction of Beyond The Game and faculty located in the hosting school. The Guys with Ties program started during the 2016-2017 school year with only 35 students and one school. Today, the program has had over 4,000 boys in the program across more than 35 schools! The group’s motto is “Look good, Feel good, Do good.” On lesson days, the boys are dressed for success in matching shirt and ties, provided to them by the program that they wear at school. Guys with Ties reflects the professional performance focus area by helping students to be college and career ready. The goal of our Guys With Ties program is to grow our young boys into gentlemen by teaching them the skills to be successful in society.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The boys who are a part of the Guys With Ties program, agree to give up their recess and lunch to participate in 8 monthly lessons throughout the school year. During the lesson, we strive to deliver on how to properly give a handshake, how to tie a tie, the importance of first impressions, dining etiquette, showing respect to the elderly/females, community service, the importance of saying thank you, goal setting, and more! We have also had guest speakers from the community join the luncheons to share their personal experiences with the students!
OUR VISION
Our vision for Guys With Ties to have our program implemented in more than 100 schools across the nation by 2025. We strive to find donors to sponsor schools in neighborhoods that may not have the funds to run the program so that we can impact boys' lives and make a change for our future leaders!
